Spells, Magic, and Magical Effects
Spells
Spells are actions that create larger magical effects. They are cast by a spellcaster.
Types of Spells:
- Instant: any spell that causes an immediate effect, like conjuring a sword or wounding an enemy. The effect might linger but is not reliant on magic itself to persist.
- Persistent: a spell that stays in effect until it is dispelled. Its caster can dispell it at will unless otherwise specified, but anyone who did not cast it must dispell it with magic.
Magic is the raw energy used in casting spells.
Magical effects
Magical effects are the present effects of magic or spells.
